Running put on hold

It has been some good years since I got diagnosed, and I do plan to have many more, but it does not always goes smooth. 3 weeks ago I had a bit more problems with the urine flow at night, and to some degree in the daytime too. I am pretty certain it is caused due to BPH, but none the less, it had me “squeezing” at bit more than usual .Adding the fact that I got constipated for a few days after I started my infamous beetroot smoothie, then I ended up with a very painful hemorrhoid. Not the first time I experience it, but first time it was painful. Did got to the clinic the same evening, but a lot of people were waiting in line, so decided to skip it. I had creme for the purpose already at home, so I decided to just treat it at usual.

It also became better, pain was practically gone after a few days and it was less swollen. But then this morning I realized I was bleeding. I knew it could be 2 reasons. Either it had burst, or I had the blood coming from the intestine. Since I have never experienced this before, and I was genuinely nervous I had to visit the clinic. Turns out it is what the doctor calls a complicated thrombosis. I got 3 different medications but no creme. I was told that is should be much better in 3 days, and if not, then it might require surgery at the hospital. Certainly not something I need in my life now, so fingers crossed that it will resolve itself during the next few days. No pain, just discomfort, and the bleeding has reduced at lot as well.

My plan was to celebrate the 2 year day of my diagnosis and the success I have had treating it holistically for so long, with a special run on the 14. August 2025. It is only about 2 weeks from now, not sure I am healed to the extend that I can do it. But if all is good, then the plan is to see how far I can get in a 12 hour challenge running a 5 km circle with about 120 m vertical altitude meters. But for now I got to take it easy, I have no intention to agitate the problem further, so for now I will have a few days off.

Since I am going to start antibiotic today, and I can not make a reliable PSA test on antibiotics, then I decided to have the test done today. Result will come probably tomorrow afternoon or maybe early Thursday 31. July. I figured it was better with a test a few days earlier, than waiting maybe 3 weeks before I can do it. I know from the initial antibiotic regime when I was diagnosed in the beginning, that my PSA dropped more then 20 points. I do not want good news being obscured by irrelevant treatments.

I have also started my production of broccoli sprouts, and I will probably have the first batch ready to eat 1. August. It is going to be interesting. Very high levels of sulforaphane compared to both supplements and mature broccoli. As far as I understand it is 10-100 times more than mature broccoli.

Donation from my daughter also gives me a chance to invest in lactoferrin for 2 months treatment. I used it for a month, and that month my PSA dropped to below 100 again. Stopped it because I could not afford it, and it went to 105. Is it the reason? No idea really, but now I got the chance to test it. But donation are not available for 14 days after donation, so I got time to verify if my current regime actually is enough, before I spent money on it.
